Fil Melange's SHAYNE is a rough, thick knit. Shetland wool and slub yarns are twisted together. Shetland wool comes from sheep living in the Shetland Islands in the northern part of Scotland. This type of sheep has a limited number of inhabitants, and the amount of wool obtained from each sheep is very small, making this wool very rare. The knitted fabric is made by twisting Shetland wool yarns with slub yarns of uneven thickness, which gives the surface a unique unevenness and a rich look.
