The series "Tema e Variazioni" is based on the enigmatic and symbolically feminine face of the lyric soprano Lina Cavalieri, considered by Piero Fornasetti as the perfection in terms of proportion, and who thus became the artist's muse. Originally conceived as a simple series of six plates, the collection grew over time to nearly 350 variations, applied to almost all of the Italian house's design components.

Each piece of Fornasetti porcelain is a unique object, screen-printed by hand: the slightest differences between similar creations are the result of artisanal production processes.
