G.H Bass is an American brand founded in 1876, specializing in the manufacturing of shoes. The story goes that its founder, George Henry Bass, is none other than the inventor of the world's very first leather loafers (Penny Loafer).

Called "Weejuns" in reference to Norwegian work shoes that George Bass drew strong inspiration from, this model has become an iconic symbol of "preppy" and "ivy league" style, especially in the prestigious universities of the East Coast in the 1950s.
