The "Tema e Variazioni" series revolves around the enigmatic, symbolically feminine face of lyric soprano Lina Cavalieri, considered by Piero Fornasetti to be perfection in terms of proportion, and who thus became the artist's muse. Originally conceived as a simple series of six plates, the collection grew over time to include some 350 variants, applied to almost every component of the Italian house's design.

Each piece of Fornasetti porcelain is a unique object, silk-screened by hand: the slightest differences between similar creations are the result of artisanal production processes.
